Special Olympics World Games Family Picnic Reception at LA’s Grand Park Back

It was an honor and a privilege to participate in the Special Olympics World Games Family Picnic Reception on Tuesday, July 28^th at LA’s Grand Park. The event for five thousand guests included fabulous entertainment, special addresses by Mayor Eric Garcetti, Vanessa Williams, Maria Shriver, Tim Shriver, and more, and was produced in conjunction with Jupiter Ambrosia Productions. Alligator Pear provided the gourmet box picnic dinner with two menu options for the families (see the menus below), and local farmers, chefs and vendors provided a variety of gourmet treats. This evening in the park for the athletes and their families provided a wonderful time for socializing, eating and listening to music. It was a unique opportunity for the parents to talk about the challenges they all face raising special needs children. They have shared experiences of fighting for equal opportunities for their kids.
